Are you concerned about the possibility of falling victim to a Scam? You’re not alone. Unfortunately, the Covid pandemic has provided additional opportunities for scammers to target vulnerable Australians, under the guise of providing access to Government support payments, early superannuation release and vaccination bookings.
Almost $30 million was lost to scammers in the month of May alone, with more than 19,000 reports of scams submitted to the ACCC.
The good news is that the ACCC, through their ‘Scam Watch’ program, has some great plain English resources available to help the public understand and identify the methods used by Scammers, the types of scams being perpetrated and advice on how to avoid them.
